Majority of Finnish F-18 Hornets grounded
Finnish Hornet jets banned from the skies.
Defence Force officials have grounded the one-seater jets due to a defect in the pilot's ejector seat.

The ban does not affect two-seaters, since the powder cartridges come from a different manufacturing batch.
The Air Force currently owns nearly 20 two-seater jets.
They are reserved for our emergency response duties
Men man har väl bara ca 6 F-18D , eller?

Air Force Returns Single-seat Hornets to Flight
All ejection seat cartridges on the Finnish Air Force's Boeing F-18 Hornets will be replaced in the course of Tuesday May 7 and Wednesday May 8. Most aircraft of the fleet will return to flight by late Wednesday.
Commander of the Air Force Major General Lauri Puranen grounded the service's single-seat F-18Cs on April 22 after receiving notification of a potential fault in seat cartridges. The grounding effectively put training flights with the type to a halt. Findings made as part of the manufacturer's quality assurance process showed that primary cartridges – mounted in the seat and fired to initiate ejection – from a specific lot were susceptible to misfire. This would have jeopardized successful ejection.
A new cartridge batch was shipped from the United States to Finland late on Monday May 6. Upon receipt, cartridges were immediately forwarded to affected Air Force units for installation on aircraft. The job will be completed on most afflicted aircraft by the evening of May 8.
The anomaly led to temporary suspension of flight training and cancellation of a major live exercise since these operations would not have warranted the increased risk level of flight safety. Air policing operations were unaffected by the grounding.
The Air Force's Hornet fleet consists of fifty-five single-seat F-18Cs and seven two-seat F-18Ds.

Tack Carl-Fredrik Geust för info.
Finns "öppna" uppgifter om hur ofta Finnish Air Force måste
agera med Air policing operations // incident beredskap?
Kanske ibland mot Sverige,Norge eller Estland?
