Re: SE-AYM, Miles M-65 Gemini 1A
Från Peter Amos, the Hon Gen Secretary of The Miles Aircraft Collection , har vi erhållit följande uppgifter:
c/n 6296 M.65 Mk.1A ‘Aircraft No.67’. Built at Woodley. First test flown, as '67th' Gemini, by S/L SE Esler, 23.7.47. Sold by Airwork. Regd G-AKDA (CofR 11814) 6.8.47 to Patrick Aviation Ltd, Birmingham (based Elmdon). Test flown, as Gemini '67', by Hugh Kendall 15.8.47. CofA No.9640 issued 22.8.47. Test flown, as G-AKDA, by Hugh Kendall 25.8.47 and 3.9.47. According to a Price analysis for the first 69 Geminis, by JC Nelson of the Sales Office, dated 3.11.47, G-AKDA was Prod No.67 and was Deld to ‘Patrick-Duval Aviation’ on 17.9.47. This record agrees with an undated, handwritten and incomplete Sales Record for the Gemini, which states that G-AKDA was Prod No.67 and was Deld to ‘Patrick Duval’ on 17.9.47. Cld 9.10.50 Sold abroad in Sweden. Swedish regn SE-AYM painted on before dely. Deld from Elmdon to Schiphol (believed by Rune Glad) en route to Sweden 10.10.50. Regd SE-AYM 1.11.50 to Gunnar Esbjörnsson and based at the small family airstrip at Kågeröd-Simmelsberga, Sweden. Flown by Gunnar and Rune Glad to Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia in the early 1950's. Cld due to CofA expiry sometime prior to 31.7.76 (although it was taxied and possibly also flown as late as 1985). Gunnar died in 1987 and his son Björn became the regd owner on 4.7.87. In early 1989 he started to restore it to airworthy condition and he received a 'so-called Byggtillstånd' (building permit No.707) from EAA Chapter 222 for restoration, dated 12.4.89. Permit to fly issued by EAA 222 on 8.10.02 and its first post restoration flight was due to made from nearby Ljungbyhed airfield soon after. Attended the EAA Rallies at Barkarby in early 6.03 and 6.06. CofA 31.10.09.
Peter Amos är tacksam för "update the CofA details", om någon har dessa så lägg dem gärna här eller skicka dem till mig för vidarebefordran.
